Below is a detailed guide on how to create a simulator in the Evolve platform.
In the main menu on the left, find the "Simulators" section.
If this section is not displayed in your account, make sure you are in the Administrator role.
If you are in the Administrator role but the section is still unavailable, write to us in the support chat or email [email protected].
In the upper right corner, select "Create Simulator".
If you are creating a simulator for the first time, you will see a "Create Simulator" button in the center of the screen.
Enter a name and select the course based on which the simulation will be created. The system uses the course content to generate the dialogue context — you can choose any existing course, including those just created via microlearning. If the course doesn't exist yet, you can provide any relevant content (documents, presentations, guidelines), and Evolve will first convert it into a course and then generate a simulator based on it. !A simulator can only be created for courses that can be edited on the Evolve platform (meaning its content is available and the platform can read it).
Fill in the simulator parameters: company description (filled by default from the account settings, but can be adapted for a specific simulator), duration (short/medium/long), simulation mode — "Learning Mode" (the AI mentor asks structured questions, best for testing knowledge) or "Roleplay" (the AI fully plays the role of the interlocutor — customer, colleague, manager — best for practicing communication skills), simulation language, and the primary interface accent color.
Click "Settings" — the system will generate the simulator parameters based on the course content.
Parameters generated automatically by the system
Welcome message — the system automatically generates the text that the user will see on the first screen of the simulator; if necessary, it can be edited manually.
Simulator goals — generated automatically based on the course content; if necessary, they can be further customized for specific tasks.
Assessment criteria — generated automatically based on the course content; each criterion is evaluated on a 10-point scale, and the overall average score is calculated additionally. If necessary, the criteria can be adjusted or custom ones can be added.
Simulator task (scenario description) — specific knowledge and skills that the participant must demonstrate; generated based on the course materials and can be adapted or entered manually.
All generated elements are available for editing: you can delete, correct, and add your own goals, criteria, and wording.
Character Setup
Go to the "Character Settings" tab. Each simulator is assigned a virtual character (avatar) with a set of emotions, which is displayed depending on the flow of the dialogue.
Character Library — a built-in library of several default characters is available.
If characters are not displayed for you, write to us in the support chat or email [email protected], and we will help you add them.
Description and communication style — name, gender, character description, and communication style (e.g., "speaks confidently, sometimes with sarcasm"). These fields, just like goals/criteria, are also generated automatically based on the course content — they can be edited manually, along with the rest of the generated parameters. If you define a specific role, background, and tone of communication, each walkthrough will reproduce the same situation — convenient for targeted skill practice (e.g., a specific objection in sales). If only a general role is specified (e.g., "Alexandra, client"), situations will vary within this role.
Custom characters — in addition to the built-in library, you can create a character based on a photo of a specific person: send the photo to the support team (write to us in the support chat or email [email protected]), and they will generate an avatar with a set of emotions and link it to your account library (it will be available only to you). Direct upload and generation of custom characters in the interface is currently in development and will appear in one of the upcoming updates.
Simulator Voiceover
You can now enable voice support for the simulator:
In the simulator settings -> Character Settings, turn on the voiceover.
Choose the voice the character will speak with.
The voice is used during the user's simulation walkthrough — for more details on how this looks and how to adjust playback speed, see the article "Working with the Simulator".
Saving and Launching
Click "Save Changes". The simulator is ready for use: after creation, it is linked to the course and becomes available for employees to complete. The user sees the welcome message and starts the dialogue with the character.
